Kings win ESL ANZ Championship S4
Kings have secured the ESL Australia & New Zealand Championship Season 4 title after defeating AVANT 3-2 in the grand final.
The offline event was due to have four teams in attendance, but as Anonymous could not attend the event and no replacement was found, the format was changed to two matches: one best-of-three semi-final and one best-of-five grand final.
While Kings got directly into the grand final as they had placed first in the online league, AVANT and Legacy faced each other in the semi-final, while the former coming out on top by a 2-1 scoreline.
The nail-biting final started on Inferno, Kings' map pick, with AVANT scraping an overtime win (19-16). Then it was Travis "wizard" Richardson's team turn to beat their opponents' on their own map choice, Cache, this time by a comprehensive 16-3 scoreline.
AVANT regained the lead in the series with a close 16-14 victory on Mirage, but Kings were the better team on the last two maps, Overpass and Nuke, and lifted the ESL Australia & NZ Championship trophy in the end.
