Cloud9 and North will be present at DreamHack Open Montreal, which will be held on September 8-10.

This announcement means that the new Cloud9 roster, featuring William "⁠RUSH⁠" Wierzba and Tarik "⁠tarik⁠" Celik, will have its LAN debut in 22 days, at the first DreamHack Open stop after the player break.

Joining them on the invite list are North, who will kick off the second part of a year by attending DreamHack Masters Malmö. The leader of the Danish team, Mathias "⁠MSL⁠" Lauridsen, stated that they will be attending three events in a row to get more experience with their new fifth, but the team still hasn't announced who that will be.

DreamHack Open Montreal will be the 7th DreamHack Open stop of the year, and will, just like the preceding Open tournaments, feature a $100,000 prize pool and eight teams. The competition will feature two GSL groups with BO3 matches in the lower bracket, followed by single-elimination BO3 playoffs.

The open and closed qualifiers will take place on August 26-27, with the best team from both Europe and North America earning a spot at the LAN alongside six invited teams. More details about the qualifiers are available here.

I hope they do. I want to see them have more success, but at the same time, boltz and steel are such good guys that it'd be a shame to see the success of the rest of them go at the expense of their success.

No, because it's lower pricemoney and not aimed at a T1 tournament. DH Masters are the T1 events.

but in 2016 and 2015 there were more high tier teams playing at dh tournaments and after the change of rules regarding coaches and timeouts is when dreamhack started inviting lower tier teams.

Or maybe just as I said, that in 2016 they created DH Masters, before that only DH Open existed. It was also around the same time that price money for CSGO started to increase, meaning the 100k for DH Open didn't seem as appealing anymore.

i don't think so exactly. up until the point where the changes came to life faceit league finals and other bigger events were held by dreamhack. now that they cant do it they have less options so they do this. anyway agree with you at the same time.
