Immortals' squad is in disarray as a result of ongoing internal issues, with several players having asked to leave the organisation, a source close to the team has told HLTV.org.

With the transfer window in the ESL Pro League about to shut, Immortals have a major headache to deal with as Lucas "⁠LUCAS1⁠" Teles, Henrique "⁠HEN1⁠" Teles and Vito "⁠kNgV-⁠" Giuseppe have all asked to be allowed to leave the organisation due to internal differences with the remaining players and with coach Rafael "⁠zakk⁠" Fernandes.

The news will come as a shock to many, considering that Immortals' runner-up finish at PGL Major Krakow was the team's greatest achievement ever. After the event, the North American organisation tied down the services of kNgV-, who had been on loan from Red Reserve.

The future of Immortals' squad is in doubt

The unhappy trio have expressed their dissatisfaction to Immortals CEO Noah Whinston, who told the players that, even though he will not stand in the way of a transfer, they can only leave if their release clauses are met.

It is believed that LUCAS1, HEN1 and kNgV- are all keen to play alongside Lincoln "⁠fnx⁠" Lau, who is on Immortals' transfer list after being benched by the team in May, with Liquid's Jonathan "⁠EliGE⁠" Jablonowski, who speaks Portuguese, high on the list of potential candidates for the fifth position.

The future of the Brazilian team is now at an impasse. Immortals know that, should they sell the majority of their squad, they will automatically lose their spot at the next Major, which could very well play a key role in negotiations. The North American organisation have reached an agreement with k1ck for João "⁠horvy⁠" Horvath, who does not know what the roster will look like when he arrives in the United States.

Registration deadline for the ESL Pro League is Friday 09:00 (Thursday 23:59 PDT), with teams allowed to change just two players after that. Immortals will take on SK in their first match in the ESL Pro League, on August 25 at 03:20 .

Elige's portuguese is very poor (just some sentences, curses and greetings). Note that Liquid's video does not show a single sentence of him speaking in portuguese. He had to learn a lot of position names, plays, strats, and specially talking about IMT guys, A LOT of slangs. Even if they hire zews as a coach i would find almost impossible for him to teamplay with these guys. And on top of that, only steel and zakk speak some understandable english. On the other hand, If we were considering an SK exchange, i would find that perfectly possible, because Fallen, TACO and now coldzera have a great english proficiency IRL and ingame and could teach him very quickly. They would love to take ELiGE to the team. fer loves him too.

I never said that your inconsistencies make your points invalid, but it shows that, since your only arguments are, the same which you blame me for, your opinion, you have to exaggerate to give them some value. The difference between me and you is that you state your opinion as facts. Also comparing your goldnova friend to cold shows that you didnt understand my examples at all. While pronax played against tier1 too your friend just plays against gold nova. In my opinion, and i think most people would agree, skill is about mechanical abilities, so Simplified, about aiming. Being able to throw many flashes and support your team doesnt take a lot of skill , while doing flashy plays does. (Which help your team win games too). Thats the reason there are roles in csgo, thats why taco is support and elige is a starplayer. Im sure if elige puts in a lot of time he could learn to support too, maybe not as good as taco but at least decent. But in no way taco would be able to do flashy plays like elige

Cold is support for SK, taco is an entryfragger, and he does show up for his team when it's needed, he can put up good numbers against tier1 opposition, while elige plays against tier3 opponents. There is a reason taco is on the world's best team right now and elige isn't, elige is an average NA player, the skill you need to have to play against the people taco play against is greater than whatever skill elige will ever have, you are not very smart if you think taco is on SK because he can throw flashes, every player on SK is one of the world most skillful players, including taco.

And we aware that your OPINION that Taco is better than Elige is an OPINION. There's no direct way to prove that either statement is a fact. To be honest, they are both decent players, Taco doesn't usually get many kills, and he isn't an overly amazing player, but he does his job. And Elige could fare much better in a better team and has a high skill cap, especially when his team plays well.

It's not really an opinion, taco has proven he is a great player and can stand his feet against tier1 teams while also winning events. If you want to say things like elige is better than taco, then you have to prove it, because seeing that taco won multiple events and is on the best team in the world while elige has achieved nothing taco is the better player unless proven otherwise. Flusha and jw were one of the best players in the world, yes, at the time they won those events. Their achievements are too old though, and they haven't won anything in years, so they are not that highly rated anymore. Niko is better than taco, because niko is playing on a top3 team and he proved he can show insane results against tier1 teams and help his team win events and get good placings, even though he has not won a major. Elige is not niko though, elige isn't even known to be a top player. You guys are talking like he is cold or niko, while he is more like cerq, a player who only looks good because of the incredibly low tier teams he play against.

He doesn't get frag because he doesn't need to, there is literally fallen, cold, felps and fer to do that. Taco doesn't give a fuck about kills, he do what's necessary to win, he doesn't hunt frags, he play smart, he hold sites, he gets crucial kills, all he cares about is how he will contribute to his team's success, he can very well stand his feet and win his team the round when the other players fail, but they are so good it hardly even happens. A team like SK need a player like taco, and that's why puggers like elige will never achieve something and NA will always be trash, they prefer to go after flashy plays and lose the round for the team, taco is not killing much but he is winning, and that's all that matters, and that's why players like him are on a whole different level than elige.

Sk is set up around fer and felps being aggressiv and cold holding sites and clutching. I think you are the one that has no clue about roles in cs. A support player is the guy that sets up the others to get kills and win rounds. Also he has to do the things noone else wants to do like or whats needed in any given situation. if fallen wants taco to entry, he does it but that doesnt make him a pure entryfragger. Sks system doesnt rely on tactics that much. Sure, they got some executes, but they are pretty basic. What makes them so strong is that they got so much firepower in cold fer and felps, sometimes also fallen, and a good support in taco. Felps and fer go aggresive, to make it a 3v3 or sth like that so cold can clutch the round.

SK is most known to be a very strategic team. Sure, they have a lot of firepower, but cold only clutches when it's needed, they rely on smart play to get an advantage and hold into it in a round. Taco is not a support player, he is a pure entryfragger, he goes in first in the bombsites and is often the first to die, that's why he doesn't has very good stats, but he sacrifices himself so cold and the others can be the ones alive in the round. Cold is the one supporting the team and sometimes IGLing, that's how SK's system always was.

I can agree that sk plays very smart. But to make that work they have to set up each other depending on the situation so all of them are kind of supports and entries depending on who has utility and who not. But it seems like taco sacrifices the most so if you transfer the typical rolesystem to sk taco would most likely be the support. Also compared to elige taco sucks as pure entryfragger

He faced much better teams, also played more important matches like finals, taco's role isn't really to have good stats, he is that player who is willingly to be the first to die in the round to give the other players the opportunity to stay alive, he is playing a much more difficult role than elige, and the fact that he can still perform like this against tier1 teams in high pressure matches is impressive, elige is supposed to be the star player and he can't be much more better than taco, who's job IS to die. SK doesn't rely on taco to get constant entry kills, it's not his role, his job is to create a opening in the site, which can be caused by making his opponents retreat, do a lot of damage, distract, etc. Kills are welcome, but not always needed. A team like liquid requires players like elige to do a risky play and have it pay off, and that's why it's so trash, SK can get aggressive but they don't need to, they do what's best for them to win the round, playing in a mindset like this requires much skill than being your average pugger in a tier3 team.

Man, portuguese is a very complex language. Just an example, even players from diferent regions from BR have diferent names for positions and callouts. Even an portuguese player have to take some time to adapt his language. And i forgot to mention the various accents we have. Its a continential country. It would be much easier for a portuguese speaking player to learn english.

Exactly this. I am one of them peepz who has always had a liking to learning languages. Started learning English and Swedish when I was 9, took on Spanish, German and Latin when I was 13 and studied Japanese in university. If you like languages and have some background in them you learn very very quickly, and more importantly, you learn easily.

In fairness, since zews left the lineup Immortals have been one of the most scrimmiest tier-one teams... and they manage to have a good result or two throughout a season. If HEN1 (who called for Games Academy, way back when iirc) or FNX could at least control the direction of the team, they would be pretty good. Elige would have a steep learning curve in the beginning, but over time that should work itself out.

G2 plays in the same way and is considered top 5, why it could not work for Immortals? They have a lot of good runs, trophies last year, deep runs in huge events this year... they are individually good, undeniable. Maybe a tactical IGL/Coach could break their impetus... We already saw how this with zews last year. Twins, fnx, kng and ELiGE is a hell of an INSANE lineup, tbh, if they can keep the explosive playstyle, this is a top 5 contender team for sure!

With Portuguese the jump to Spanish or even Italian is quite easy. Also, once Brazil gets rid of all the corruption they have, they will be a booming economy. The same with all the African countries that speak Portuguese. Meanwhile you probably only speak shit "English". ATM Portuguese would still be above German or French in your list, which proves that you have no clue what you are talking about. Honestly the talent at fnx-hen1-lucas1-kng core is off the roofs. But I really don't know about their commitment. They just don't show that professionalism vibe that you see at all the SK members. If someone like Fallen was the fifth, I'd be hyped as fuck, because he's a person meant to be a leader and would show the direction. But who's gonna show the direction in this new team I have no idea. Fnx is insanely smart but was never a talkative guy while playing, the twins have good individual knowledge but poor macro knowledge it seems, kng I don't know but I'd guess he isn't experienced at IGLing too. It's one of the riskiest changes I seen but at least the potential is still very very high.

Lmao HLTV is dumb. Even Fox that is portuguese had trouble communicating in-game with SK because of the difference in callouts and different slangs/sentence formation while talking fast. Now imagine a guy that barely speaks portuguese. It would be way easier for them to communicate in English at that point, since they all have played rank s for a good time. And then you have way more options than Elige. And as much as Elige is friendly with the BR players, it's a totally different thing to live and be togheter in a team. Now for Lucas, Hen and KNG, amazing players but not so mature, just like fnx. For me steel and boltz were the pillars holding IMT up. I don't exactly like Zakk, but all this sound like a really dumb decision. IMT problem was always lack of discipline in-game, not skill. So you remove the 2 players that had their feet more on the ground and you are left with a pre-Karrigan Faze style of team but weaker. Needless to say they will probably not achieve much.

I doubt it. Gambit won the major and changed the team because of internal fights. Had IMT win it they would probably still do the same, as the twins and Kng are much more hot-headed and prone to dumb decisions than Gambit players.
