Immortals defeat C9; to the playoffs
Immortals defeat Cloud9 in Austin (16-7 Inferno) and secure a spot in the semi-finals.
In the South vs North American grudge match, Cloud9 were the team to take the early lead, winning the Terrorist pistol and a couple of buy rounds to find themselves 5-2 up. Immortals bounced back thanks to Ricardo "boltz" Prass picking up a crucial 3K while defending the A site on his own in round eight.
After a couple of 1v1 clutches by Henrique "HEN1" Teles, Immortals took over the lead and brought out the AWP-SCAR combo on the B site that helped them get to eight CT rounds. Their setup was countered by Cloud9 by the end of the half and the North American side ended the first half with only a single round deficit.
steel's side didn't drop a single round on the T side of Inferno
The Terrorist pistol and following two rounds went the way of Lincoln "fnx" Lau and co., giving them a buffer to work with, while Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert picked up a triple kill in the first buy round—but it wasn't enough as the Brazilians clutched out the following 2v2.
Immortals continued their flawless T half by exploiting the A defense of Cloud9, effectively trading kills to close out the game 16-7.
