Gambit edge out Heroic in Austin
Gambit managed to close out their opener against Heroic after a marathon match on Train that ended 25-23 in favor of the CIS side.
HEROIC kicked off their match against Gambit by winning the opening pistol round as Terrorists, setting themselves up for a 3-0 start on the harder side of Train. The CIS team was quick to get on the board though, winning two consecutive gun rounds, but fluffed a 3v1 anti-eco retake of B against Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen shortly after that.
The Danish youngster was off to a hot start, going 12-2 after just seven rounds. Thanks to him, HEROIC were the winners of the early game, going 5-3 up, and were looking to extend their lead when a saved AWP in Rustem "mou" Telepov's hands wrecked the Danes A site offensive in a crucial round, allowing Gambit to come back and finish the first half 8-7 up.
AdreN dropped over 40 kills against Heroic
The score was equaled after HEROIC won the second pistol round, but Gambit got back in the lead shortly thanks to some Deagle kills from Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev on a force-buy round. Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko's side kept the pressure on for the rest of the half, grabbing the first buy round with A site rush and getting up to a 14-8 lead.
Gambit tried to close out the game with a B rush, but it was shut down by the CT side and HEROIC slowly started bringing back the match. At 15-13, the double pop-dog setup by the Danes paid off massively, as Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså got a triple kill that got his team into overtime in the end.
After three hard fought sets of MR3 overtime, Gambit finally managed to close out the game thanks to the Kazakh trio mou, Abay "HObbit" Khassenov and especially AdreN performing admirably.
