OpTic edge out Cloud9
OpTic Gaming came from behind to beat Cloud9 2-1 and advance to the Consolidation Final at cs_summit (20-22 on Cache, 16-11 on Cobblestone and 16-14 on Mirage).
The series kicked off on Cache, where Cloud9 opened the game up with a successful A push, with Braxton "swag" Pierce getting three kills to his name. The next two rounds also went Cloud9's way, but once both teams had money in the bank the game entered a scrappy phase as rounds went back and forth.
With Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas hitting his shots, OpTic eventually took control of the game, winning six of the last eight rounds to secure a narrow 8-7 lead.
The second half was highly contested at first as neither side could string more than a few rounds together. But at 12-12 Tarik "tarik" Celik went huge, picking up a quad kill to give OpTic a timely boost.

It looked like OpTic had the game in the bag as they secured three map points, but Jake "Stewie2K" Yip single-handedly rescued Cloud9 with three quick UMP kills. That crazy solo action turned the tide back in Cloud9's favor as they won the next two rounds to force overtime.
The first overtime did not produce a victor, but in the second one, Cloud9 prevailed, picking up two rounds in each half to lock down the map, 22-20.
Map two, Cobblestone, began with OpTic taking the pistol round thanks to a 1v2 clutch from Jason "jasonR" Ruchelski. OpTic carried their momentum into the gun rounds, jumping out to a 10-2 lead, but then Cloud9 tightened up their defence and picked up two more rounds before the end of the half.
Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert kept Cloud9's hopes alive with a 1v2 clutch in the pistol round, with the team following it up with both anti-ecos. They came close to losing the first gun round, but Timothy "autimatic" Ta turned hero, getting two UMP kills during a flank before winning the decisive 1v1 fight.

Down 0-5 in the half, OpTic called a timeout, a move that paid off as they won two rounds in a row thanks to tarik's AWPing inside B. Cloud9 then added two more rounds to their tally, bringing the scoreline to an 11-13 deficit, but they were caught off-guard by a quad kill from William "RUSH" Wierzba in an eco round, which left them strapped for cash, giving OpTic the boost they needed to take the map.
It all came down to Mirage, which began with Cloud9 taking the pistol round and the corresponding anti-ecos to get out to a 3-0 lead. OpTic then strung three rounds together, but they were unable to take the lead as Cloud9 regained control of proceedings thanks to some solid rounds by Mike "shroud" Grzesiek. But as rounds went by, OpTic started to gain a foothold in the game, with the half ending in a close 8-7 scoreline in Cloud9's favour.
OpTic won the pistol round as Terrorist with a fast B play and followed that up with both anti-ecos, taking a 10-8 lead. Cloud9 then tightened up their defence and won five rounds in a row, but OpTic refused to throw in the towel, taking the map in the very last round after a series of multi kills from Keith "NAF" Markovic in the dying stages of the game.
