Lightstep leaves Chiefs, pecks joins
One of the more prominent Oceanic teams Chiefs have announced a change in their roster, with Michael "Lightstep" Hall departing from the squad and Peter "pecks" Nguyen joining on a trial basis.
The change comes in a busy period for Oceanic CS:GO players, with a multitude of competitions under way and the IEM Sydney qualifiers just around the corner.
To "continue to make more progress", Chiefs have decided to make a change, removing the 28-year-old Michael "Lightstep" Hall (which is his third time departing the organization) and bringing in Peter "pecks" Nguyen from SYF on a trial basis.
pecks will be replacing Lightstep in Chiefs
This is what the team's captain Tyler "tucks" Reilly had to say about the change:
"Today we say goodbye to one of my longtime teammates and friend, Lightstep. We built this team together 10 months ago and we’ve seen nothing but improvement. Our goal was to build a strong lineup out of inexperienced but incredibly skilled players, I believe we have done this and I’m very proud of what we have achieved together. I can’t thank Mike enough for what he has done for this team."
"Although it’s a very tough decision to make, we believe for our team to continue to make more progress, we need to make a change."
"With that being said we are very excited to announce pecks as our new 5th leading into CG/ZEN/IEM on a trial period. pecks is someone who I think is incredibly skilled and can really become one of the best players in our region with the right leadership. We can’t wait to show what we can do with this roster."
In the official announcement, Chiefs mentioned that they will be "fielding substitutes, primarily Peter "pecks" Nguyen", hinting at the possibility of using other players in the upcoming CGPL Finals, ESEA Premier and ZEN League matches.
Chiefs are now:
Tyler "tucks" Reilly
Peter "pecks" Nguyen
Alistair "aliStair" Johnston
Joshua "INS" Potter
Liam "malta" Schembri
I have been replaced by @peckscsgo in @ChiefsESC , it's been fun.
