Pimp on his way out of Liquid
Jacob "Pimp" Winneche has been moved to substitute while Liquid are negotiating his transfer with interested teams, the organization revealed on their website.
Jacob "Pimp" Winneche's spell as an active member of Liquid comes to an end after he had been part of the team for over nine months, since June last year.
The move comes after a series of mixed results, including group stage exits at the ELEAGUE Major, IEM Oakland, and ESL Pro League Season 4 Finals, as well as a semi-finals finish at ESL One New York.
Pimp's Liquid spell is coming to an end
The Dane's departure from Liquid is the second time the active roster had changed in as many months, after Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz replaced Spencer "Hiko" Martin in early February.
According to the release, the American organization is currently negotiating Pimp's transfer with interested parties while they are looking for his replacement. In the meantime, the 21-year-old will act as an active substitute.
"It’s with mixed feeling of sadness and excitement that I will no longer be a part of the Team Liquid starting roster. I no longer feel that playing for Liquid fulfills my personal expectations & goals, nor do I feel I can provide the commitment necessary to continue with the team on a long term basis." Pimp said in a statement.
"It has been a great ride and an experience I would not trade for anything in the world. I am not done as a player by any means, and I am actively looking for another team with a vision similar to mine. I want to take this time to thank Liquid for everything they’ve done and provided for me, a life experience I wouldn’t be without!"
